Lohmann - Qualität in Edelstahl

The Lohmann family has made a permanent impact on Witten.
As the "Father of Industry in Witten" Johann Friedrich Lohmann set up the first cast steel factory in Haus Berge in Witten at the end of the 18th century. As a coal mine owner, he developed coal mining and campaigned for a rail link between Witten and the Bergisch-Märkische Eisenbahn company. The family's commitment to Witten resulted in the Märkische Museum and the Helenenturm observation tower as well as improvements in the employees´welfare.
